After looking over the pictures I took of some of those 60 glorious sweaters, I’m almost regretting that I put this book back.

Aside from the humor value, though, there’s nothing useful about this book. The sweaters are universally ugly, not just because of the color choices. The pattern schematics are all variations on one of two themes:

rectangle with sleeves:

maxi pad with wings:

Neither one all too appealing. In the end, I went with the late 60s book on knitting and crochet. It actually has a good chapter on pattern construction and sizing, so if I ever get around to designing my own clothing patterns, I can start there.

Oh, and of course it has some pretty fantastic illustrations. I’ll post them next time.
