Nearly at a loss for what to give my brother for his birthday, I thankfully remembered that I’d promised him a winter hat. I first made a hat like this in a child’s size for the mitten and hat drive at church last winter, and I’ve wanted to make an adult sized one since. I love the ribbing and the short row technique that gives it those dart-like decreases to the crown. Started this at 10pm last night and it was in the mail by 3pm today.

The wool comes from a large sweater that has thus far become a shawl, a pair of mittens, and now this hat. Still two balls of it left, likely enough for another couple hats or maybe a set of fingerless gloves.
